Kristen is known for her exceptional commitment to education within Oshawa Fire Services. Since joining in 2017, she has revamped the communications training program, equipping dispatchers and firefighters with essential skills and promoting personal and leadership growth. Her influence extends beyond Oshawa as an instructor at Durham College and APCO, where she trains future leaders in fire communications. Recently, Kristen played a key role in implementing a new NG911-compliant CAD system, ensuring a smooth transition and building confidence among staff through comprehensive training. She is always available for follow-ups and eagerly shares her knowledge, creating an environment of support and excellence in the workplace.

As a dedicated mentor, Kristen has been instrumental in empowering women in the fire service to take on leadership roles and pursue their professional goals. She has guided team members preparing for supervisory exams and actively advocates for inclusive decision-making within her division.
