Effective Command Canada believes that incident command excellence doesn’t come from one course, one scenario, or one good day on shift.

It’s developed through standardized theory, realistic application, and continuous practice.

That belief is the foundation of the Dare 2 Command Academy, developed under the direction of Dr. Katherine Lamb.

About Dare 2 Command Academy

Dare 2 Command is a certificated incident command development program designed to create:

Incident commanders across all hazards — not just structural fire.

This program moves beyond traditional “one-and-done” training models and focuses on long-term skill development, decision-making confidence, and command sustainability.

It is a system for building and sustaining command competence throughout an officer’s career.

⭐ Scholarship Opportunity

Enrollment in the Dare 2 Command Academy is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

Fire Service Women Ontario (FSWO) is pleased to support participation in this transformative program by offering scholarships to eligible FSWO members. Up to 20 FSWO members may be approved for scholarship funding and reimbursed upon successful completion of the Dare 2 Command Academy. Applicants must meet program eligibility requirements and receive approval from both the Dare 2 Command Academy and FSWO.

To qualify:

Once the program has been successfully completed and the certificate issued, participants who have been approved for the scholarship will receive a full refund of the program fee.

This refund represents the scholarship award.
