When Fire Service Women Ontario was established in 2009 with only a few dollars in the budget to get things underway, Ottawa stepped up to host the first annual conference, establishing a solid foundation to improve upon each year. The 2015 FSWO conference in Mississauga rose this bar again, and the conference was one of our best ever. It was made possible by the support and enthusiasm provided by Chief Beckett and the Mississauga Fire Service. FSWO thanks Chief Beckett and his team for their leadership on hosting our conference and in “walking the talk” in promoting and advocating for a diverse and inclusive fire service across Canada.
