This year’s recipient is Fire Service Women Central Provinces (FSWCP), led by Lieutenant II Sarah Peto of Brandon Fire & Emergency Services.
FSWCP is a grassroots, incorporated, non-profit created by women, for women, across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. In just two short years, Sarah and her team have built an inspiring network that provides mentorship, advocacy, and a strong voice for underrepresented groups.
Sarah herself is a trailblazer—the first female officer at Brandon Fire, with 24 years of frontline service and a fierce commitment to mental health advocacy. Under her leadership, FSWCP quickly earned national recognition, joining with FSWO and FSWBC to receive the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs DEI Award for their groundbreaking case study United by Equity.
They have also played a pivotal role in national leadership development days and strategic collaboration efforts that are transforming the fire service across Canada.
On behalf of Fire Service Women Ontario, we are proud to present the 3E Award to Lieutenant II Sarah Peto and the Board of Directors of FSWCP for their extraordinary vision, leadership, and impact.
Congratulations!
Winner: Lieutenant II Sarah Peto, President, and the Board of Directors, Fire Service Women Central Provinces (FSWCP)
