In this four-hour advanced auto extrication training session, participants focus on extracting occupants from vehicles not resting on their wheels, presenting unique challenges. Utilizing a range of specialized auto extrication tools such as hydraulic cutters, spreaders, and stabilizing equipment, rescuers work meticulously to stabilize the vehicle and create safe access points. Techniques for lifting and securing the vehicle are practiced ensuring the safety of both victims and responders. Through hands-on exercises and simulations, participants enhance their skills and readiness to handle complex extrication situations successfully.
Dee Kirwin is the esteemed academic manager at the Ontario Fire College, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous role as fire chief in Zorra Township. With a strong educational background, Dee holds various NFPA certifications and qualifications, reflecting her commitment to professional development and excellence in the field of firefighting and adult learning. Before her firefighting career, she imparted knowledge as a dedicated math teacher, showcasing her versatile skill set and passion for education. Dee's leadership, expertise, and dedication to both academia and the fire service community make her a respected figure in the realm of fire education and training.
