Advanced Rapid Response Extrication

This is designed specifically for those departments that are covering large areas and when time is critical...every second counts! Firefighters will be challenged to create a plan to perform a fast and safe rescue with the clock running. The scenarios will be - multi vehicle accidents, roll over pin jobs, T-Bone as well as head-on impacts. Firefighters will receive extensive tool time.  The course includes training in the following areas:

 • New car technology, including hybrids (Late model cars will be on site)

• Quick stabilization 

• Rapid extrication 

• Resources 

• Understanding rescue tool operations and how to maximize their power.

This must-have program will share all the latest rapid extrication techniques that will help firefighters improve their rescue times and build confidence. 

Full PPE – bunker gear, coveralls with steel toed boots, helmets, gloves, no SCBA required

Jason Defosse

Jason started his Firefighting career in 1995 and is a proud member of the Quinte West Fire Department. He also proudly served as an Infantry soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has been a rescue specialist for the last 10 years and an international instructor who specializes in advanced extrication. Jason’s unique style of instruction has put him in demand delivering over 1700 extrication training courses to the Canadian Military, Mine Rescue and Fire Departments extensively throughout Canada, The United States and South America through Code 4 Fire & Rescue.  In addition to his duties at Code 4 he is a certified rescue tool service technician and he co-writes training articles for the company’s magazine. At home, Jason is a proud father of 2 amazing children (Julia & Trevor), he is a hockey coach and he enjoys playing guitar and restoring old classic cars while enjoying the outdoor lifestyle.
