Karen started her career in the Fire Service in 2003. She currently serves as a Firefighter with the Department of National Defence, as well as Acting District Chief and Assistant Chief of Fire Prevention Education with the McNab Braeside Fire Department.
Karen has been an Instructor with the Pre-Fire Service Firefighter Program at Algonquin College, Ottawa, for over 13 years.
She is also currently very active in her community leading fundraising efforts for a number of different charities and was awarded a Queen’s Jubilee Medal in 2012 for her dedication to her trade and commitment to her community.
