Julia Dharma Long
Julia Dharma Long is a certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator, an Applied Neuroplasticity Facilitator, and advanced yoga and meditation teacher with over 1,000 hours of training, including trauma-informed and neuroplasticity.
Drawing from her background in law, fitness, mindset and mindfulness-based stress reduction, she empowers teams and individuals to reduce stress, build resilience, thrive under pressure, and practice self-care.
As founder of FRY Canada, Julia champions First Responder wellbeing through evidence-based tools rooted in neuroplasticity and embodied mindfulness. Her work includes "F.R.Y. First Responders Yoga. The Book" (available on Amazon) and developing the FRY APP, ensuring the tools are available for First Responders and other trauma-exposed professions 24/7, immediately when needed.
Her new 2025 book “Duty to Self: A First Responder’s Handbook for Building Resilience” is now also available on AMAZON., having reached bestseller status in three categories.
A sought-after speaker, presenter and teacher trainer, Julia blends science, movement, mindfulness, strategic visualization and mindset to inspire transformation in high-stress environments. Her deep empathy, shaped by being a part of First Responder families, fuels her mission to support those who serve.
In a powerful act of civic leadership beyond her daily work, also founded the not-for-profit F.R.Y. Community Outreach and launched the inaugural First Responders Day event in 2025, a landmark initiative to publicly honour those who safeguard our communities. May 1st is informally recognized across Canada as First Responders Day. Only Ontario has formalized this recognition through the First Responders Day Act, 2013. Shockingly, despite this legislation being in place for over a decade, no major public celebration had occurred until Julia’s groundbreaking event. Her efforts marked a turning point in awareness, bringing
heartfelt gratitude and visibility to the daily sacrifices of First Responders and frontline professionals. This initiative is a living embodiment of FRY’s mission to “give back to those who serve™.”
