Live Fire: Purpose Under Pressure -- HOT

  • October 24, 2026
  • 8:00am-5:00pm
  • FESTI -- 2025 Courtneypark Drive East Mississauga ON L5T 1J3

Facilitated by Phil Montgomery, Amber Bowman & Linz Swick

Fire doesn’t care about your rank, experience, or confidence—it demands preparation, sound decision-making, and flawless execution.

This hands-on live fire program is designed to build firefighters who can perform with confidence when conditions deteriorate. Through realistic fireground scenarios, participants will develop the skills needed to read fire conditions, coordinate as a crew, communicate effectively, and execute tactical decisions under stress.

Students will focus on the fundamentals that save lives: fire behavior, nozzle techniques, search considerations and interior fire attack—all while emphasizing firefighter safety, situational awareness, and crew accountability.

More than just putting water on a fire, this class challenges firefighters to understand the “why” behind every action, reinforcing critical thinking and decision-making in dynamic environments. Whether you’re preparing for your next fire or looking to sharpen your operational skills, you’ll leave with practical techniques, increased confidence, and training methods that can be brought back to your own department.
