  • Oakville Fire Training Centre -- S Service Rd W, Oakville, ON L6L 5T7

Facilitated by Scott Hewlett

Search is the mission of the Fire Service and the purpose behind every other fireground task is to support it. Regardless of the Search Culture within your department, this session will expose you to the mindset, skills, and strength and stamina required to rescue trapped occupants.

The training will be broken into 4 one-hour sessions:

- Types of search, current Firefighter Rescue Survey data, body mechanics, and solo drags.

- VES – Interior Operations and beyond the door.

- VES – Exterior Operations: Solo 24’ Ladder Deployment, and masking up.

- Bedroom and Large Room Search – Life-Fire-Layout, Beds and cribs, ‘walking the wall’, and communication.

Requirements: Students will require full PPE and SCBA with a spare cylinder.
