This workshop presents findings from a study commissioned by Quebec’s Ministry of Public Safety on improving gender inclusion in fire services. Drawing on interviews, research, and policy analysis, it examines how organizational culture and workplace environments shape women’s experiences. Eight strategic areas guide the discussion: inclusive recruitment, physical testing, team dynamics, station design, equipment accessibility, occupational health and safety, organizational commitment, and change management. Through small‑group activities, participants explore how these recommendations can be applied within their own departments to strengthen inclusion and support meaningful, sustainable change.
