With the support of Starfield Lion, this year’s Pink Helmet of Courage Award goes to someone whose openness and strength has been an inspiration. FSWO is proud to recognize Firefighter Josie Downes who has been with Calgary Fire Department since 2017.
FSWO is pleased to present the President’s Trailblazer Award to Ottawa Fire Services Captain Tracey Shields. Nominated by FSWO Past President Louise Hine-Schmidt, the award recognizes Tracey as an inspirational leader who has shared the FSWO common vision to make a difference for women who are contemplating careers in the fire service.
FSWO is pleased to present the Diversity and Inclusion Award to Ret. Chief Dave Shelton from the Montreal Fire Department. This year’s recipient has been nominated by Toronto
Fire Services firefighter Patricia Youn in order to recognize his dedication throughout his career to promote diversity and inclusivity in the fire service not only for the City of Montreal, but for other cities as well.
