The Fire Service Women Ontario 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of Board Officers and Directors will be held virtually on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 beginning at 7:00pm. Anyone attending the meeting will be required to register in advance no later than Tuesday, 7:00pm on February 13th, 2024 by sending an email to registrar@fswo.ca.
Assistant Division Chief Cassandra Greer has dedicated an enormous amount of time and energy to women and men within her union. She is a fierce labour advocate and has worked to bridge the gap between labour rights and women’s rights in our male-dominated profession.
Under the leadership of President Jenn Dawkins, along with the support and commitment of an amazing team of women, Fire Service British Columbia was established last year with the goal of advancement of women in the fire service.
Chief Ravjot Singh Chhatwal consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable environment in every aspect of his work. He was passionate about improving fire and life safety in the City of Brampton.
One of the first women to become a firefighter at her department, Lee-Ann Stam has faced the various challenges that come with that honour - from proving herself, to stretching her limits, to creating a level of camaraderie and trust with her colleagues, while also raising a young family.
